Assessment Services

At Ardent Grove, we offer psychological assessment as a powerful tool for understanding and growth. Our evaluations help clarify diagnoses, inform treatment planning, and uncover strengths that may otherwise go unseen. With a compassionate, client-centered approach, our clinicians provide insight that supports healing, self-awareness, and more effective care—whether you're navigating a new challenge or seeking greater clarity on a long-standing concern.

Assessment Formats

Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations

At Ardent Grove, our comprehensive diagnostic evaluations are designed to bring clarity to complex mental health concerns. We focus on differential diagnosis to carefully distinguish between overlapping symptoms, ensuring an accurate understanding of each individual’s experience. The insights gained help guide tailored, evidence-informed treatment planning and support meaningful progress in care. Using evidence-based practices such as EMDR, mindfulness, and approaches including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, we support healing at every level: emotional, physical, mental, and relational. We pay close attention to the connection between the body and nervous system, helping you build skills for regulation, resilience, and self-understanding.

Our therapists offer a safe, respectful, and empowering space where you are seen, heard, and supported. Whether you're navigating trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, we walk beside you in your journey toward greater connection, balance, and wholeness.

ADHD & Learning Disabilities

We provide comprehensive evaluations for the presence of diagnoses, which may be impacting performance at school, work, or home. These include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and specific learning disorders in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), and mathematics (dyscalculia). Our assessments identify how these challenges show up in daily life and explore co-occurring concerns such as anxiety or depression. With the right tools and insight, individuals can better understand how they learn best and take informed steps toward success.

Academic Accommodation Testing

Academic accommodation testing is designed to identify diagnoses that may impact learning and academic performance. Our clinicians provide comprehensive, documentation-based evaluations to support access to accommodations across educational settings. This includes support for:

- Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

- 504 Plans

- Standardized Testing (ACT, SAT, etc.)

- Higher Education (GRE, Bar Exam, etc.)

We are here to help you or your child secure the resources and support needed to succeed academically at every level.

Therapeutic Assessment

Therapeutic assessment is a collaborative process that uses psychological testing as a tool for self-exploration and growth. Rather than solely focusing on diagnosis, this approach helps individuals gain personal insight, find meaning in their experience, and foster change. Our clinicians work closely with clients to make the assessment process empowering and supportive—turning evaluation into a meaningful step toward healing and self-understanding.

First Appointment

In your initial meeting, you and your clinician will review relevant background information and collaboratively develop a tailored testing plan based on your unique goals. We’ll also schedule the testing sessions. For children, this appointment may involve parents only or both parents and child, depending on the child’s age and needs.

Testing Session(s)

Testing may take place in one or multiple sessions, depending on your evaluation plan. During these sessions, you or your child will complete a range of psychological tests assessing various areas of functioning. To ensure the most accurate results, please come well-rested. Breaks will be provided as needed. If any adjustments to the testing plan are recommended during this time, your clinician will discuss them with you.

Feedback Session(S) & Report

At the feedback session(s), your clinician will review the final Psychological Evaluation Report, including any diagnoses and recommendations. We prioritize your full understanding of the results and encourage you to ask questions. We’ll also discuss whether you’d like us to share this report with others, such as schools, therapists, or other professionals.
