Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a cutting-edge treatment approach that combines the transformative effects of ketamine with traditional talk therapy. Ketamine, a medication originally developed as an anesthetic, has been shown to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions by promoting neuroplasticity and providing relief from emotional distress.
In a KAP session, ketamine is administered in a safe, controlled setting under the supervision of a trained clinician. The altered state of consciousness induced by ketamine allows clients to explore their emotions and experiences with heightened insight, often breaking through barriers that can hinder progress in traditional therapy.
At Ardent Grove we specialize in guiding clients through this profound healing process. Sessions are tailored to individual needs, ensuring a supportive, compassionate environment where clients can explore new perspectives and integrate meaningful change into their lives.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy offers clients the chance to experience meaningful changes in their lives. It can help shift how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. Many find it reduces negative or repetitive thoughts and quiets that inner critic, leaving space for a more positive outlook. You might also feel a boost in self-esteem and self-compassion, making it easier to navigate challenges.
Some people discover new ways to approach problems creatively or feel motivated to make changes they’ve been wanting to tackle. It can also bring relief from feelings of existential worry or give you a much-needed mental break from your usual thought patterns. For some, the experience can feel deeply spiritual or even mystical, offering a fresh sense of clarity and connection.
IS KAP RIGHT FOR YOU?
KAP may benefit individuals who have not found relief through conventional therapies or medications. Our therapists and prescribers we partner with conduct a thorough assessment to determine whether this treatment fits and is appropriate for your mental health goals.
